Stephanie Au Hoi‑shun is an elite Hong Kong swimmer and co‑founder of the mental‑wellness initiative Mind The Waves. A four‑time Olympian (2008, 2012, 2016, 2020), she holds 18 national records—long‑course titles in the 800 m freestyle and 50 / 100 m backstroke, plus multiple short‑course and relay records. In Rio 2016, she proudly carried Hong Kong’s flag, and she also competed in five FINA World Championships. A graduate of UC Berkeley in Environmental Economics & Policy and winner of the prestigious Hong Kong Outstanding Students Award, Stephanie has balanced sporting excellence with roles as a fashion ambassador for brands like Chanel, Nike, and Calvin Klein. In February 2023, she launched Mind The Waves with fellow Olympians Camille Cheng and Jamie Yeung—a youth‑focused platform offering workshops, talks, and safe spaces to normalise emotional conversations and build mental resilience. Through it, Stephanie leverages her public voice to support young people’s well‑being and destigmatise mental‑health struggles in Hong Kong.
